Ways You Can Help

Reality is that one in every 11 Canadians live in poverty and basic human rights are often non existent when you live in poverty because you can’t afford the essential staples of life: food, shelter, and clothes, Mississauga Community and Family Services tries to help such struggling individuals and families of our community.

Do you want to make someone’s life a little easier? With a little planning, lots of passion and five simple steps you’ll help someone when they need it most. And you might even inspire others to do the same.

1. Call us at (905) 279 3941 and ask  “How you can help?”
2. Organise a food or toy drive in your community/workplace/neighbourhood
3. Focus on your donation by setting a Fundraising Goal
4. Ask your families, friends, coworkers to help you achieve and surpass your goals
5. If possible try to use your local social media to reach new donors

About us

The Mission of The Salvation Army Mississauga Community and Family Services is to Extend the Hand of God to those in our Community who need hope for tomorrow. If you are new to the Family Services we ask that you browse through our website to better understand the programs and services we offer to the community in Mississauga.  In order to help the community we need the community help in return as well.

The Mississauga Community and Family Services is passionately committed to lending out a helping and caring hand to families and individuals in our community who are struggling.  The Salvation Army is an international Christian organization that began its work in Canada in 1882 and has since grown to become the largest non-governmental direct provider of social services in the country. The Salvation Army gives hope and support to vulnerable people today and every day in 400 communities across Canada and more than 120 countries around the world. The Salvation Army offers practical assistance for children and families, often tending to the basic necessities of life, providing shelter for homeless people and rehabilitation for people who have lost control of their lives.
